Hello from our new Assistant Head
We are delighted to welcome Mrs Emma Murray who joins us from Bedford School where she was Director of the IB Programme.
"I am thrilled to have joined Aldenham this term as Assistant Head (Co-Curricular, Sixth Form and External Affairs). My family and I have moved from Bedford, where I had been working at Bedford School as a Housemistress, a Maths teacher and, latterly, Director of the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme. Here at Aldenham we are very fortunate to be living on the stunning school estate and my three children are delighted to have taken up their places in the Prep School. My eldest daughter, who has come from a girls' school, is particularly pleased to be back in a co-educational environment, with all the academic, co-curricular and social benefits that brings.
"Like many of my colleagues, I did not start my working life as a teacher. After completing my degree at the University of Oxford, I worked in London in a financial services firm for four years. However I quickly realised that office life was not for me and I retrained as a teacher. I can attest to the words of Confucius who said that, if you choose a job you love, you will never have to work a day in your life. I wake up each morning excited to see what a new school day has in store; having the opportunity to teach and support young people in their most formative years is an absolute privilege."
