Year 5 visit Kew Gardens

April 29, 2016

Year 5 visited Kew Gardens to enrich their current Science topic on Plant Life Cycles. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the grounds and identifying a range of flowers and plant life. They walked amongst the tree canopy on a tree-top walk. At a height of 18 metres everyone had wobbly legs, but the views of the gardens and of London were incredible! In the afternoon children engaged in a guided tour of The Princess Diana conservatory with an education leader from Kew. Following in the steps of Darwin, children learned about the very first types of plants and how plants have adapted to live in their environments.
