Year 5 Building Bridges

After their STEM workshop last half term, Year 5 used their new understanding of triangular shapes and trusses to work in a design team. They were challenged to develop a bridge that held the biggest load. They negotiated their designs as a group and then followed their plans, tweaking them as they went along, to create freestanding structures.

Reception in Forest School

Reception turned things pink at Forest School. Using blackberries, we squashed them to extract the juice, then used this to tie dye our white hankies. Nursery Update

We have been exploring sounds in Phonics, compared quantities in Maths, and got creative with nature faces and hedgehog art using autumn leaves. The children loved our woodland walk and story time! Next week’s theme: ‘Ourselves’—please help your child bring a picture or drawing of their house for Show and Tell.
