Prep school staff had inset training on Learning outside the classroom. We covered Maths, History and Geography in the Spinney. Using a variety of loose parts and natural resources we covered lessons on rivers, area and perimeter, Roman artefacts, mapping skills and how wattle and daub was used throughout history. We also used the outside areas by our class to learn how simply an English lesson can be taken outside to enhance our teaching. We looked at story sequencing, character emotions and how to make and use a story stick! Everyone took lots of ideas away to use this term.
An action packed, fun filled year.
Year 5 enjoyed all the experiments in the Senior School labs as part of their Science Masterclass.
The children in Year 3 at Aldenham Prep School have been learning about the Stone Age and they have greatly enjoyed making antler headdresses which the prehistoric men used to wear in the Stone Age.
