We have had a wonderful week in Reception, the highlight being a visit from some police officers on Thursday and getting the opportunity to go inside their police van. The visit started with the police officers telling us about what they do in their role and then we got the opportunity to try on some of their uniform! After that we went outside and into the police van. We heard the siren, had a go at holding the police shields and also the chance to go in the little jail in the back of the van. It was such a brilliant visit and the children had a memorable time learning about the police.
This year’s Christmas performances were superb. The Foundation Stage performed Whoops A Daisy Angel and all the children sang beautifully. Years 1 and 2 performed Children of the World and their show was a delight. Parents at all four performances were thrilled with the children’s talents.
Reception had a visit from Green Watch from Borehamwood fire station. They were shown around their brand new fire truck and even got to use the hose. They also found out about their uniform and some of the emergencies they help with.
Mufti Day to raise money for Place2Be. We dressed up as a career that we wanted to pursue as an adult. The theme for our mental health week was ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’.
