Chaplaincy

Aldenham School welcomes pupils of all faiths and none.

Journeying Together, Being Better

Aldenham School was set up with a Christian foundation in 1597 and continues to support that vision by employing a full-time Church of England Chaplain. Our School Chaplain, Revd Tony Richardson is also a teacher in the school and is centrally involved in supporting and developing the spiritual life of the school community.
The vision of the chaplaincy is to enable pupils and staff in the school community to:
• Grow in unity
• Think deeply and critically about ourselves and our place in the world
• Strive to be agents of positive change in the world
This vision is summed up by the words: Journeying together, thinking critically, being better.
The role of the School Chaplain at the Aldenham Prep School involves:
  • Dynamic assemblies
  • Godly Play sessions every half term
  • Being available to all staff, students and their families to provide pastoral care or a listening ear when needed
  • Marking significant moments in the school year such as Harvest, Remembrance, Christmas and Mother’s Day.
  • Taking a lead on staff wellbeing at the Prep School as well as the Senior School
The School Chaplain is on site throughout the week and takes an active part in supporting the vibrant life of the school, including charity events, school shows and the teaching of RE lessons.

“We feel the school offers much more than just education, we believe that it teaches your child how important their time is at school, and this in turn gets the best out of every pupil, not just our daughter.”
