Year 3 Visit Aldenham Church

January 21, 2016

The children greatly enjoyed our visit to Aldenham Church. The Revd. Robert Fletcher kindly gave us a talk about the History of the Church. The children particularly enjoyed learning about how the tower, which was built around 1250, was damaged in 1940 by a german bomb, destroying the spire and damaging the parapet. Amazingly, the bells were undamaged and the rebuilding of the tower and the new spire was finished in 1950. It was truly a pleasure to see them so engaged learning about Aldenham Church and asking so many questions about it.
