As part of their History topic ‘Ancient Egypt’ this term, the children had a creative curriculum day run by ‘Those History People’. They were able to immerse themselves completely in their history topic and what better way for them to gain an understanding of life as an Egyptian, than to spend a whole day being one!
The children had a full day experience involving practical making activities like tomb painting , making clay canopic jars and learning to write like an Egyptian. The entire day was run by an Egyptian expert whose knowledge of this subject is vast.
Year 3 and 4 performed superbly in their recent production of ‘Aladdin Trouble’. Playing to full houses in the school theatre the children showed their many talents including singing, dancing and comic timing.
Year 5 attended a Greek Workshop. It was led by Philipos (phil) a Greek soldier. He showed them how to make mosaic tiles, carve soap, make Greek wine pots and use herbs to treat ailments. By far the most demanding was making olive oil from actual olives and then using a wick to burn the […]
