Year 6 celebrated Pi Day by working alongside the Year 11s at the Senior School finding out the length of a path; heights of a pillar and chained fence all using Pi. They chose from a number of circular objects including a tin of custard, glue stick and a hoop and rolled them the length and height of the objects they were asked to measure. By working out the circumference of the circular object and counting the number of rolls made the pupils were able to calculate the lengths and heights.
In Design and Technology Year 1 used their senses to explore a range of vegetables as part of their topic ‘Eat More Veg’. They wrote riddles describing what they saw, smelled, felt and tasted.
Aldenham Prep had a full sweep in the Watford Festival Finals at the Watersmeet Theatre. Winning in every category as well as receiving all the overall winners’ prizes. Tom and Taylor took the Mime Trophy, Isabelle, the Poetry cup. Olivia won the Young Actors’ cup as well as the Duologue trophy with partner Isabelle. The […]
As part of their topic ‘People Who Help Us’ the children in the Reception class enjoyed a visit from the local police. They learnt all about the equipment, uniform and the police van – complete with flashing lights and a very loud siren! After the visit the children completed their reports.
