Pi Day

March 16, 2016

Year 6 celebrated Pi Day by working alongside the Year 11s at the Senior School finding out the length of a path; heights of a pillar and chained fence all using Pi. They chose from a number of circular objects including a tin of custard, glue stick and a hoop and rolled them the length and height of the objects they were asked to measure. By working out the circumference of the circular object and counting the number of rolls made the pupils were able to calculate the lengths and heights.
