River Investigation

October 25, 2016

Year 6 left Aldenham on two school mini buses with wellies and waterproof clothing to visit Hudnell Park Outdoor Centre for a Geography day field trip.

Year 6 children are currently studying Rivers in the classroom so this fun day trip enabled them to gain practical hands on experience of river investigation and field work.

The children worked together in small groups developing team building skills and were shown how to measure the water, record the flow of the river as well as investigating animals that live in the river.

Year 6 gained more knowledge and understanding of the different stages of a river, it’s features and the journey of the river itself.

A brilliant day out and an added bonus was the glorious sunshine.
