Staff Training
Prep school staff had inset training on Learning outside the classroom. We covered Maths, History and Geography in the Spinney. Using a variety of loose parts and natural resources we covered lessons on rivers, area and perimeter, Roman artefacts, mapping skills and how wattle and daub was used throughout history. We also used the outside areas by our class to learn how simply an English lesson can be taken outside to enhance our teaching. We looked at story sequencing, character emotions and how to make and use a story stick! Everyone took lots of ideas away to use this term.

Fearsome Pirates!
For Year 1’s Creative Curriculum week, they found out all about Pirates. Watford Festival
Aldenham Prep had a full sweep in the Watford Festival Finals at the Watersmeet Theatre. Winning in every category as well as receiving all the overall winners’ prizes. Summer BBQ
The Prep school children have made the most of the recent sunshine. Especially when they enjoyed a whole school BBQ on Top Field. Thank you to Holroyd Howe for the delicious food!
