Watford Festival

More than 60 pupils from Years Three to Six entered the Watford Festival this year.

In the Group Competition Aldenham pupils won all of the Junior Group classes in Acting and Improvisation beating all local schools and Theatre schools. Following the Group weekend pupils competed at the Pump House Theatre in solo and duo classes for the next 14 days. We were delighted to achieve over 30 medals throughout the 2 weeks.

Our Gold Medal Winners all competed in the Finale Concert on Sunday 19th March at the Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth. Our pupils competed against other Gold Medallists in various disciplines of Acting, Mime, Verse and Prose.

From this we won the Mime Trophy and the Duologue Acting Cup for an entertaining acting scene. Furthermore were awarded the prestigious Navapurkar Shield for the best performance of the Festival beating over 600 entries.

Reception in Forest School

Reception turned things pink at Forest School. Using blackberries, we squashed them to extract the juice, then used this to tie dye our white hankies. Nursery Update

We have been exploring sounds in Phonics, compared quantities in Maths, and got creative with nature faces and hedgehog art using autumn leaves. The children loved our woodland walk and story time! Next week’s theme: ‘Ourselves’—please help your child bring a picture or drawing of their house for Show and Tell.
