Year 6 production of Macbeth

February 9, 2026

The Year 6 production of Macbeth marked the culmination of an immersive and ambitious study of Shakespeare’s play, performed as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival at the Unicorn Theatre in Southwark. Our interpretation reimagined Macbeth in the 1930s, giving pupils a historical lens through which to explore themes of power, ambition and control. Through close study of Shakespeare’s language and a deep exploration of the relationships between characters, the children brought clarity, tension and meaning to the text. Performing in a professional theatre setting, the pupils rose to the challenge, delivering a confident and compelling performance and making their parents and teachers immensely proud.
