Admissions at 13+

Year 9 pupils follow a broad, balanced and challenging curriculum.

28 places are available at 13+ to join the pupils moving up from Martineau’s House. Places are offered on the basis of 13+ test, interview and school report. The test is during the Spring Term and papers are set in English, Maths, Science, a Modern Foreign Language and Verbal Reasoning. If Aldenham School is the only choice, an early offer may be made, subject to a satisfactory interview and school report. The test would be sat in the normal way.

Entry Assessment

Offer of a Place

Offers will be made to successful candidates in the February of the year of entry and acceptances must be made in the March along with a deposit to secure the place.

Induction Day

Pupils in Year 9 will attend an Induction Day on the day before the start of the new academic year. This is a team building exercise and is an essential part of the Induction Programme. It gives the opportunity to students to meet others in their year group, to spend time with those in their house, to find their way about the school a bit more and enter the trials for the school football teams who will often have a match on the first Saturday.
