Aldenhome and Away

February 12, 2021

This week’s adventures took us to the land of fire and ice! Iceland was a real treat with beautiful glaciers, impressive waterfalls, awe-inspiring northern lights and, of course, a quick dip in the Blue Lagoon hot springs. After all the kilometres we covered in Europe, we finally arrived in America!

You’ll be pleased to hear that in New Hampshire we outskied an unfriendly moose and some territorial black bears! In Vermont we had the most fabulous snow conditions but risked serious frost bite with temperatures plummeting well below zero!

We left our thermals in the chalet and headed on to NYC for an action-packed theatre extravaganza. When not learning the ropes from top production companies, theatre directors and actors, we were filling our suitcases with all the latest must-have fashion!

Thankfully, our trip wasn’t derailed as the rioting at Capitol Hill was just a distant memory and Washington began to get used to a new era. Rev Green insisted on everyone running the Lincoln Memorial before dawn and seeing sunrise from the very spot MLK made his I Have a Dream speech. Rev Green – don’t forget to log all the kilometres we covered!

Get your sunblock ready, we are on our way to Barbados…

A big thank you to the Games department for logging a massive 3632km from our students!
