House Science

This year’s House Science competition consisted of teams of six students from each house in Years 9, 10 and 12, competing in two separate challenges. The first was a quiz section where the house had to break their larger team into pairs to tackle an easy, a medium and a hard quiz challenge. These quiz questions included scientific knowledge, science in the media, Dingbats, famous scientists and even determining the science from emoji’s. Teams had 20 minutes to answer as many questions as possible.

In the second section, teams where given ice cream sticks and Sellotape to build a structure capable of spanning a one metre gap in only 20 minutes. This would then be tested by hanging weights from the centre. The structure had to be self supporting snd could not be stuck down to the tables. This required the whole team to contribute. Well done to all the students who participated and the results be available soon!
