Top class facilities and dedicated elite coaching, enables boys and girls to

take their interest in hockey to the next level.

Boys, Girls and Mixed Hockey

Our vision is to provide a well-structured, challenging and enjoyable experience for junior players where they can develop an affinity for the game, and equip themsleves with the tools needed to support their aspirations in the game.

Aldenham has one full sized specialist Hockey Astro Pitch and one new half-sized hockey training astro, recently opened by Olympian Shona McCallin. We also have a full sized indoor Hockey Pitch.

Students benefit from our full time professional Adult Premier League coach, Huw Stevens who leads the programme for both boys and girls and also leads the indoor programme.

The Hockey coaching staff provide a Performance Strand and Recreational Strand that allows players to participate and gives the most aspiring the opportunities to realise their full potential. Staff are guided by England Hockey’s code of ethics and behaviour in its beliefs and expectations of players, staff and parents.

Professional Elite Coaching

Students at Aldenham are fortunate to be offered the chance to take part in our EPP (elite player pathway) if they show themselves to excel. The EPP encompasses, as far as availability allows, students selected from the performance strand for specialised coaching via indoor teams, overseas tours, and individual work with professionals and either current or ex-internationals.

Indoor Hockey

For the Indoor hockey season, we start training in the summer term and the start of the Christmas term. Our full size indoor hockey pitch is one of the best in the area (Premier League Southgate Hockey Club use our facilities to prepare for their indoor season) and allows us to train and play matches regularly. We host indoor County tournaments. Our indoor hockey season is as competitive as our outdoor season, both boasting elite performers in various teams.
