Aldenham School students to play Football for England in Rio
November 8, 2016
Year 11 Aldenham students Zico Asare and Xavier Amaechi have been selected to represent England in the upcoming U16s International fixtures against Brazil in Rio. This is one of the most prestigious international fixtures for schoolboys.
Xavier and Zico play for the Arsenal and Fulham Youth Teams respectively, and have been part of the England team since last October. In 2015 they both played for England’s U15 squad against the USA at St Georges Park. They are the first boys from Aldenham to represent England in football at any age.
The boys have been part of successful school teams since joining in Year 7; winning the County Cup in Year 10 and narrowly missing out in the County Cup final when they were in Year 8. These two players hope to become professional footballers one day, and are certainly heading in the right direction.
