Aldenham hosts UK-China Education Forum

December 1, 2016

Aldenham was delighted to host a UK-China Forum this week between 11 UK schools and the Headteachers of 11 schools from across China. This event, organised by the British Council, was opened by the Chairman of HMC this year, Mike Buchanan. For many of the Chinese Headteachers it was their first visit to a UK school so we were very happy to show off our beautiful site including our boarding facilities and to give them a better understanding of a British education.

The aims of the forum were:

– To allow a greater understanding of the merits of both the UK and Chinese current systems

– To explore the potential for Chinese students to come to the UK and for partnerships to emerge between UK and Chinese schools

– To enable each of the schools to introduce themselves to each other through face to face meetings

– To give the Chinese visitors the chance to tour the Aldenham School site and visit boarding houses.

They were led by expert geographer and volcanologist, David Edwards, and given the unpredictability of Iceland’s volcanoes this was reassuring to say the least.   On arrival at their first hotel the […]
