Cricketing Stars in the Making
May 18, 2017
Two of our young cricketers are demonstrating their talents for the game.
Rahil Patel had a great day for the U12s on Saturday the 6th of May, scoring 109 not out against Watford Boys – a match we proceeded to win by 124 runs. This was Rahil’s first century and it is likely that it will by no means be his last. The following match that he played in saw him score 54 not out against St Columbas. Rahil is a capable all-rounder and is also a talented off-spinner. Outside of school, he plays for the respected Stanmore CC. His favourite cricketer is Virat Kohli and he would one day like to represent the Indian cricket team. Keep going Rahil, there are many more runs to come!
Another impressive cricketing feat was achieved on Saturday the 13th of May by Shané Gillani against Haileybury in the U14B team match. Shané is a promising leg-spinner who has the ability to turn the ball a long way. In this match, he took 4 wickets for 7 runs in his spell, including a remarkable hat trick! A hat trick is a rare achievement in cricket and the match ball was presented to Shané in chapel the following week in recognition of this. Well done Shané!
