More wins for top Aldenham Athletes
June 12, 2017
A small number of our top individual athletes competed in the Herts Championships at Jarman Park, Hemel at the weekend, with some outstanding success. Milly Gall won both the Hurdles (11.29s), breaking the County record, and Long Jump (5.45m). She will now go to the nationals to compete in the Long Jump, where she is currently ranked 3rd in GB. Another student who will represent Hertfordshire is Tom Wright who won the High Jump with a 1.92m jump. Tom also came 3rd in the Long Jump with a 6.41m jump. Although now too old to compete on Saturday, Toni Ademuwagun will also represent Herts at U20 after jumping 2.01m this weekend.
Other notable performances at the weekend came from two boys who were competing up an age group. Daniel St John reached the 100m final and finished 7th (11.68s) and Theo Vickeridge finished 5th in the 200m (23.70s).
This suggests that some of the School Sports Day competitions this year should be very impressive indeed.
