Masterclasses continue at Aldenham
June 23, 2017
Year 5 pupils from St Martin’s Prep School in Mill Hill enjoyed a busy day at Aldenham for masterclasses delivered by Mr Jenkins in English and Mr Shead in Science.
They faced the challenge of being castaways on an Island where they had many problems to face and decisions to make working individually and in groups. The Year 5 visitors solved problems as well as producing some descriptive work and poems. They then went to the Science department to look at the science of survival where they investigated how signal fires could be used to help in being rescued. They saw how metals ions can change flame colours and learned how to make a light using chemical luminescence.
