Paris Trip inspires A Level Art Students
February 23, 2018
In early February, eight A Level Art students spent five days in Paris gathering contextual and thematic references for the development of their coursework and exam unit projects. The Year 12 and 13 students visited cultural staples such as the Pompidou Centre and the Musee d’Art Moderne, as well as the contemporary Maison Européenne de la Photographie and the Fondation Louis Vuitton for their fill of conceptual, cutting edge works.
Despite the swollen Seine and consistently rainy days, spirits remained high and the students consistently demonstrated commitment to their personal artistic development. They also enjoyed some time on the tourist track too, visiting the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur of Montmartre and exploring the fashionable Marais district. Overall, a successful and enjoyable trip which will continue to inform students’ creative pursuits for years to come.
