Year 9 Students on the annual Battlefields trip

85 students went to Ypres in Belgium to commemorate the First World War in what was the 100th year since the Armistice was signed to bring an end to the bloodiest of conflicts. Pupils visited such iconic memorials such as Tyne Cot and Langemark Cemetries, Thiepval and the Menin Gate where four carefully chose pupils were selected to lay a wreath on behalf of the school. Pupils also explored the town of Ypres in between the battlefield elements of the visit.
Rev Green and Mr Smith also conducted poignant services at Talbot House whilst at Thiepval a perfectly observed 2 minute silence ended what was a memorable experience for pupil and staff alike.
