Combined Cadet Force
Students at Aldenham learn in dedicated Army and Air Force sections, with students from Queens School in Bushey who join us at Aldenham for this Enrichment Opportunity. Specialist training is provided by Officers and our Contingent Commander, and there is a Biennial Inspection of the unit by a military representative. Opportunities for leadership abound and students learn discipline and how to work as part of a well focused team.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
Students can take part in this once they reach Year 9. The award tests students’ ability to be dedicated to something over a period of time, as each of the sections require regular commitment for many months. Learning new skills, being physically active, volunteering, and carrying out an expedition of varying degrees of difficulty all lead to qualifications which are globally recognised (as well as being a good deal of fun!).
TRIPS
Educational and Recreational Visits, Home and Abroad
Some have said that Aldenham is synonymous with ‘Trips’. As part of educating the whole child, and fully recognising the power of an educational visit to inspire and enthuse in a way which is difficult to replicate in a classroom – Aldenham has a large range of trips for all ages each year.

Some families choose Aldenham specifically because of its focus on the importance of the creative arts. It has long been known that allowing the creative aspect of life to develop and flourish can keep people mentally healthy. It tends to be experiences in these areas which last in the memory.

Aldenham is well known for its sporting prowess, punching well above its weight in many areas and competing on an equal footing with many much bigger schools. Known for success in National Football Finals, Aldenham works well with professional clubs to support and find future pros. It is not just football though! Aldenham nurtures talent in many sporting courts and fields of play.
