Adrian Bliss (OA): A Journey of Creativity and Success
Since graduating from Aldenham School in 2012, Adrian Bliss has carved a unique path in the world of entertainment and social media. His journey is a testament to creativity, versatility, and the power of digital platforms (and also to the support he received from Aldenham in his time here). Whilst at Aldenham, Adrian was a passionate dramatist and film maker. Often the winning director and actor in the House Drama competition, Adrian and some friends also made the first Aldenham School promotional film.

In his A Level year, he and two others made the headlines in the UK press and daytime television with their idea of crowd funding a major film. They managed to get various A List celebrities to take part and in the end even produced a short film, made here at Aldenham with cast members including Steven Fry, Frank Skinner, and Patricia Hodge! This did not stop him going on to achieve three A grades at A Level!

Adrian’s passion for storytelling led him to explore more filmmaking early in his career. He has been involved in various projects, showcasing his talent behind the camera. His work often blends humour with insightful commentary, making his films relatable and engaging. His ‘The Watercooler’ series was very much like something Samuel Beckett could have written and produced. However, it was his ability in front of the camera, cultivating a loveable and slightly uncomfortable or clumsy persona, which kick started his following on Social Media.

Social Media Success

Adrian’s breakthrough came with his comedic sketches on YouTube and TikTok. He joined YouTube in 2013 and quickly gained popularity with his “Vlog From the Future” series.  His shift to short, humorous sketches on TikTok further amplified his reach, earning him millions of followers across the platforms. His unique style, characterized by the human body,  historical and biblical themes, and his trademark of breaking the fourth wall and looking straight into the camera, has resonated with a global audience.

Advertising Voice Over Credit

In addition to his visual content, Adrian has lent his distinctive voice to a major advertising campaign. His ability to infuse personality and humour into voiceovers made him the perfect choice for the ‘Confused.com’ campaign of asking interesting questions, such as ‘Why do we struggle to walk on a broken escalator?’, and ‘Why did we start keeping money inside pigs?’.

Sell-Out Shows

Adrian’s talent extends to live performances as well. His show, “Inside Everyone,” was a sell-out success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and later in London’s West End. The show, which takes audiences on a humorous journey through history, received rave reviews and further cemented his status as a versatile entertainer.

Sunday Times Best Seller

Adrian’s creative prowess most recently has ventured into writing. His book, ‘The Greatest Nobodies Of History’, a blend of humour and personal anecdotes, has been well-received, earning a spot on the Sunday Times Best Seller list. This achievement highlights his versatility and ability to connect with audiences through multiple mediums.

Adrian Bliss continues to inspire with his innovative approach to content creation and we are proud to have him as an alumnus of Aldenham School.
