Aldenham Students help at local Primary School
April 25, 2019
As part of our community outreach work, small groups of Sixth Formers are taken to primary schools twice a week: on Wednesdays we visit Parkside Primary School in Borehamwood and on Thursdays we attend Bushey Heath Primary School. The students help young children to develop their reading, assist with arts and crafts, help to run sports lessons and provide invaluable support to teachers in their classrooms. Not only are these experiences of benefit to the primary school pupils, our students also learn incredible life skills and take a great sense of achievement and pride from what they are able to achieve when helping others.
Last week Claudia Greenway and Chris Page did their last ever session helping in the Year 3 class at Parkside – with exams around the corner, both students have reluctantly had to step down from their volunteering duties. In bidding Claudia and Chris a sad farewell, the Year 3 teacher told us that they had been incredibly helpful and wonderful ambassadors for Aldenham School. Well done to both of them.
