Cricket

Cricket at Aldenham

The Cricket pitches sit at the heart of the school. The summer term is alive with the sounds

of cricket, and students and staff gather to watch both training and matches in the summer

sunshine in our majestic grounds.

Cricket for Boys and Girls

Under the expert guidance of our full-time professional coach, David Goodchild (formerly of Middlesex) and our own highly qualified staff, girls and boys thrive in an environment that fosters hard work and sportsmanship. We field two senior teams and an A and B XI for each age group, ensuring everyone gets a chance to shine.

Our impressive fixture list features matches against the MCC, XL Club, and prestigious schools such as Westminster, Haileybury, UCS, Berkhamsted, Haberdashers, Bishop Stortford College and Mill Hill.

Overseas tours to the UAE, Sri Lanka, Barbados and South Africa enable further development of skills and experience. At Aldenham you can become part of a cricket tradition that not only builds athletic skills but also instills lifelong values.

Specialist Facilities

Our facilities include four pristine grass wickets, an artificial wicket plus six all weather outdoor nets, and 5 indoor nets offering ample opportunities for both practice and competition. Dedicated ‘off season’ training in our indoor nets helps to hone skills as cricketers eagerly wait for the return to better weather.
