Data Collection for GCSE Geographers on River Ver

September 21, 2016

Our young geographers visited 13 sites for their Data Collection GCSE Controlled Assessment on the River Ver. The field trip included Redbourn, Verulam Park and Frogmore. Back in the classroom these results will be analysed and the students will have completed 25% of their GCSE.

The new Flow meters, bought with money from the Development Fund, were put to good use measuring velocity which helps towards the discharge figure. They also measured width, average depth, turbidity, sediment size and angularity. A successful day’s study which was completed in ideal weather conditions.
