Excellent GCSE Results

August 25, 2016

The 86 Year 11 pupils were today celebrating their success as GCSE results were released. With over 37% of all the 850 examinations taken graded at either A or A* grade the School was receiving its best results at this level. This was particularly pleasing at a time when national data was demonstrating a downturn in GCSE results across the country.

It was especially pleasing that 48% of the pupils sitting the exams this year received four or more A*/A grades which was another record high proportion for Aldenham.

Amongst the top performers were Phoebe Altman (8A*;1A); Eleni Christoforou (5A*;2A); Matthew Gillespie (6A*;3A); Anthony Jacovides (5A*;6A); Max Kraitt (6A*3A); Shiv Menon (7A*;4A); Jay Nathvani (4A*;3A); Eleanor Rees (8A*;2A); Jacob Saunders Holland (5A*;3A).

Headmaster James Fowler commented: “The GCSE programme continues to offer a significant and wide ranging challenge for teenagers and we are delighted that so many of our pupils have embraced this with such very pleasing outcomes. We are sure that these results will leave them in a very good position as they move onto the next stages of their education either here or elsewhere.”
