Excellent GCSE Results at Aldenham

August 22, 2019

Aldenham students were delighted to receive excellent GCSE results today.  This is the first year in which all examinations have been graded using the new marking scale with the top levels of 7-9 equating to previous A/A* grades and a level of 4 being equivalent to a previous C grade.

Therefore it was very pleasing that of the 900 examinations taken this summer 31% were graded at level 7-9, 76% were graded at level 5 or above and 92% at level 4-9.  36% of the pupils gained 4 or more grade 7-9 results and there were some exceptional top performers each of whom gained grade 7-9 in every one of their GCSEs: Viola Alishah (8×9; 3×8); Oliver Cowles (8×9;2×8;1×7); Atahan Diamond (1×9;6×8;1×7); Zoe Freedman (1×9;5×8;4×7); Bob He (6×9;4×8;1×7); Alex Webber (3×9;3×8;5×7).

These results will allow our students to be able to move onto the next stage of their education with great confidence and excellent prospects.  We look forward to welcoming most of them back to Aldenham to start their A Level studies next term where they will be joined by 30 students who are joining them from schools both locally and internationally.
