Fantastic End to U14 Football Season

May 2, 2024

A fantastic end to the football season saw our U14s win two trophies in the space of 6 days. Last Friday evening saw a strong crowd visit Harpenden Town FC to watch the Hertfordshire Schools County Final vs St Edmunds. Despite going a goal down early on the team quickly turned the game around with two goals from Theo Brown following fantastic assists from Aadi Sequeira and Sass Elias. Unfortunately missed chances allowed St Edmunds to stay in the game and despite scoring again through Dijani Barnor to make it 3-1, St Edmunds scored a great goal to make it 3-2 which led to a tense final 15 minutes. However, with just a minute or so remaining Jenson Lacey scored a 4th to win the game and lift the U14 trophy for the third successive year.

On Thursday the same team played their Elgin League final vs Highgate, who were the only independent school to have beaten them this season. Just like Friday we went behind early to a sloppy goal, and again like Friday, we quickly turned the game around with two superb team goals. Firstly, Jaspar Berg finished off a fantastic move before Dylan Roberts swept home following another excellent move. The second half saw us take control of the game with Theo Brown and Jenson Lacey scoring, the latter a wonder goal, to win the match 4-1 and secure the U14 Elgin League for the third successive year too.

A serene view of a lush green landscape featuring rolling hills, trees, and a clear blue sky. The scene evokes a sense of peace and natural beauty.
