Great British Athletics Triumph
March 6, 2019
There was double success at the British Age Group Indoor Athletics Championship
Milly Gall completed in the U17 section. Milly did exceptionally well to qualify in two disciplines. Unfortunately, she was injured on day one and this led to a 14th place finish in the Long Jump. This is still an amazing achievement to be 14th in the country whilst injured!
Her Hurdles event was on day two and she sailed through the qualifying rounds gaining a PB of 8.71 in the process. In the final Milly finished 5th and was only 0.23 seconds behind 1st place. Quite simply amazing when considering that she was competing against Hurdles specialists.
The event saw a gold medal for Toni Ademuwagun in the U20 High Jump.
Toni left the school only last summer (2018) and consistently broke sports day records in the High Jump during his time at the school. He was also a School Praeposter and a popular member of Beevor’s House. Toni jumped a staggering 2.11m to win his event and claim the gold.
