Great start to another successful cricket season
April 28, 2018
After a rain-affected start to the season, the U13 team played against the 2017 winners of the Bucks County Cup, Dr Challoner’s, in the first round of the National Cup. Aldenham were put in to bat and the openers put on a solid partnership of 41, before Finnlee Ferguson was dismissed for 21. Rahil Patel was the star of the Aldenham innings, batting for 22 overs and scoring 51 runs – a fantastic start to the season. The rest of the team did well and contributed to the total, with Aldenham ending up on 134 for 7 after 25 overs. Aldenham shone in the field and managed to restrict Dr Challoner’s to 100, winning by 34 runs. Rahil Patel and Jack Morris each claimed 3 wickets, and the team worked very well as a unit.
A successful start to the season, which will see the team progress through to the next round of the competition. Well done boys!
