Informal Concert Entertains

November 25, 2016

Seventeen of our students from Year 7 to Year 13 gave the audience a wonderful evening of high quality and varied music at this week's Informal Concert. Brass, woodwind, strings and piano were all well represented in music from Beethoven to Elton John.

In such an evening of excellent performances across the board it would be unfair to highlight certain individuals, but perhaps a special mention to those who performed who are new to the school this term: Lillie Henchley (saxophone) and Edie Sunman (guitar) from Year 7; and Alex Kessell-Holland (French horn) and Bob He (piano) from Year 9 - I hope we hear many more performances from them over the years. It was also pleasing to hear so many young voices giving confident performances and we wish Georgia Lowe from Year 13 good luck in her music college auditions, but judging by her captivating performance of Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word, I think luck shouldn’t be required.

Informal Concert

The music department presented an informal concert offering a lot of the juniors a chance to perform for the first time this year, with a few older students also performing to provide inspiration. It was wonderful to see a lot of upcoming talent to watch out for in the future. Share 0 Post 0
