Journeying Together, Thinking Critically, Being Better
Aldenham School has a proud Christian heritage and employs a full-time Church of England Chaplain to lead the School community in regular services of worship,to commemorate special occasions throughout the School year and to provide pastoral care for staff and pupils across all of the UK schools in the Aldenham Foundation.
All students and staff attend our weekly chapel services as well as services commemorating special events, such as Remembrance Day and Carol Services, These are important events in the life of our shared community. The Chaplain is also available to all staff, students and their families to provide pastoral care or a listening ear when needed.
The School motto is “In God Is All Our Trust” and it is noticeable that at events for Old Aldenhamians (OAs) the former students speak warmly of their memories of this vital part of Aldenham life.
Our School Chaplain, Revd Tony Richardson and Assistant School Chaplain, Revd Philip Green are also teachers in the school. Both are centrally involved in guarding and developing the the spiritual life of the community, and the Chaplain is also one of our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads.
THE VISION OF THE CHAPLAINCY IS: TO ENABLE PUPILS AND STAFF IN THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY TO:
• Grow in Unity
• Think Deeply and Critically About Ourselves and Our Place in the World
• Strive to Be Agents of Positive Change in the World
This vision is summed up by the words: Journeying together, thinking critically, being better.
“Aldenham School provides a wonderful environment for its pupils. The staff are friendly, organised and take time to get to know each pupil and their individuality. Every effort is made to make learning enjoyable and rewarding. Communication between the school and home is excellent and help is always at hand and nothing seems too much trouble.”
