Psychology and Biology Collaboration

Sixth Form psychologists, Tara Lawton, Jolie Slater and Edvards Trumpe carried out brain dissection on sheep’s brains for Year 7 and 8 pupils in Biology Club as part of a collaboration between the Biology and Psychology Departments.

It was a fascinating activity which gave the Martineau’s students an excellent taste of an A Level lesson. These Sixth Formers are some of the winners of the Bott Prize for Experimental Psychology for their skill in brain dissection, as well as reading the EEGs (brain scans).

Biology Club Update:
Students have been hands-on caring for our reef aquarium, bearded dragon, and terrapins—plus prepping for a challenging cauliflower cloning experiment! We’re also watching for mushrooms to sprout in our straw pots. Exciting times exploring science in action!
