Psychology and Biology Collaboration

Sixth Form psychologists, Tara Lawton, Jolie Slater and Edvards Trumpe carried out brain dissection on sheep’s brains for Year 7 and 8 pupils in Biology Club as part of a collaboration between the Biology and Psychology Departments.

It was a fascinating activity which gave the Martineau’s students an excellent taste of an A Level lesson. These Sixth Formers are some of the winners of the Bott Prize for Experimental Psychology for their skill in brain dissection, as well as reading the EEGs (brain scans).

Generative AI Assembly
Year 10 took part in an assembly exploring generative AI, preparing them for RileyBot sessions in their upcoming tutor time. Students explored how AI can be misused, from edited images to inaccurate translations and why it’s important to think critically. A fun translation challenge helped us spot who relied on AI and who didn’t!
