Ski Trip to Canada
February 28, 2025
During the February half term break, students from years 10-13 headed to the ski slopes of Mont Sainte Anne, Quebec, Canada. The snow conditions were spectacular, enabling powder runs through the trees and perfect snow on the pistes. As a result, the students were able to make significant progress with their skiing technique thanks to the guidance of their instructors. The 2 beginner students, having an instructor to themselves, had become strong intermediate skiers by the end of their first week on snow!
Some evenings were spent enjoying the facilities in our stunning hotel – swimming pool, outdoor hot-tubs and Games Room. On other evenings we ventured outside the resort for the excitement of attending a top level ice hockey match at the Videotron stadium in Quebec, the adrenaline rush of ice rafting and inner-tubing and picking up some bargains at a shopping outlet centre in Montreal. Mr Buckland’s quiz evening was certainly a highlight of the trip, especially for Mr Buckland.
The wonderful trip gave everyone lifelong memories of skiing down perfect runs admiring the St Lawrence river below, skiing through trees in deep snow, wallowing in outdoor hot-tubs when the air temperature is -20°C and flying down a mountain in an inflatable raft surrounded by screaming friends.
