Wins at County Athletics Championships
June 11, 2016
Aldenham had 4 athletes taking part in the County Athletics Championships at Jarman Park Athletics track this weekend. In order to even compete, athletes have to have reached a county standard qualify. Toni Ademuwagun and Tom Wright both competed in the U17 High Jump event. Toni produced an outstanding jump of 1.88m to win the competition. Tom came 3rd with a jump of 1.77m. Tom was actually competing a year above himself so we hope he can win gold next year.
Another athlete competing up a year was Milly Gall who competed in the Hurdles & Long Jump events on the day. Milly was 4th in the Hurdles final and 2nd in the Long Jump with a 5.10m jump. Milly’s jump reached national entry standard and she is now being considered to represent Herts at the National Championships in July. Milly was only beaten by older students in both events so we are hoping for further success next year.
Our last athlete was Theo Vickeridge who reached the 200m qualifying standard in his first ever race at the distance last month. It was therefore an incredible achievement by him to make the final and finish 6th in a school record time of 24.8secs.
Congratulations to everyone who took part. The future is looking very bright for Aldenham athletics.

Sports Day
Sports Day was all about giving 100%—every sprint, jump, and throw showed real dedication. The competition was intense, but what stood out most was the respect and support everyone showed for each other. We celebrated not just the wins, but the effort, teamwork, and talent on display across the board.
