Having previously extracted their own DNA from cheek cells that they then placed into necklace pendants, this week our keen biologists used a variety of sweets to produce an edible model of the structure of DNA that represented the DNA bases and double stranded, helical nature of the molecule. They were also keen to observe the progression of our reef aquarium ecosystem, with many questions surrounding one of our cleaner shrimp that is now carrying eggs and the growth of our baby turbo snails.
