Pi Day at Aldenham

March 14, 2016

Aldenham students celebrated Pi Day 14th March ‘16 (rounded to 5 significant figures!) on with Year 6 pupils joining Year 11 to work through Pi related activities. The competition was fierce, but as the sun shone team work was the order of the day as they worked together to measure straight lengths with circular objects.

Year 7, with some Year 13 help, had designed a Pi poster made from pies and this made the perfect back drop for Mr Harrison’s record breaking attempt at lunchtime to recite the first 1600 digits of pi. Not successful at the first attempt, Mr Harrison went on to achieve this in front of a smaller audience later in the afternoon. This makes him No.8 in the country. A truly awe inspiring feat.
