Celebrating success with our A Level results

This morning saw plenty of celebration as our 83 students in Year 13 came into school to receive A Level results. As a result of these very good outcomes, over 94% of the students have been given immediate offers by their first or second choice of universities. These included some top performers who excelled at A Level: Sam Aron (A*A*A) who will go to York to read Biochemistry; Joy Cardell (A*A*A) who has a place at UCL to study Archaeology and Anthropology; Tom Findlay (A*A*AA) who has been offered a place to read Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial; Beth Goodman (AAA) who will go to Nottingham to study English; Luke Hadji- Kyriacou (A*AA) who will go to St Andrews for a degree in Computer Science; and Josh King(A*AAA) who will take up a place at Mansfield College, Oxford, to read Materials Science.

It is however especially pleasing that so many of our students are looking forward to next steps which will suit them so well, including our top golfer, Oliver Baker, who will go on a golf scholarship to Point University in Georgia, Tom Scott who will relish his Art course at Reading University, and Matthew Prett who will be undergoing Officer Training at Sandhurst.

Headmaster James Fowler congratulated all the students on their success: “At a time when it is so essential that young people are able to move forward onto their life beyond school with a high level of confidence, it is excellent that our students will be developing themselves in a huge diversity of courses and careers which should suit them well. I am especially grateful to the staff at Aldenham for the tremendous care and attention they have shown in guiding the young people to these great results. We will all be looking out for their continued success in the years ahead and wish them well as they leave us.”
