Sixth Form Dinner 2016
September 24, 2016
The annual Sixth Form Dinner comes early in the school calendar but helps to bond the two year groups in the Sixth Form. Planning, however, starts almost a year earlier as Mr Spencer plots his theme and strategy. This year the theme was the Queen’s 90th birthday, and the dinner featured many royal symbols and artefacts, even a special guest who resembled Her Majesty! At the beginning a poem celebrating the Queen’s birthday (written by Florence, one of our regular Crossroads guests) was read by Luca Edmondson.
Mr Collins, Assistant Head, welcomed the students, staff and guests to what was his 14th and last Sixth Form Dinner, and with the usual battery of jokes, introduced the guest speaker, Mr Adam Thrussell (OA) who gave a humorous speech entwined with excellent advice for the students.
Mr Spencer would like to thank everyone who helped sponsor and support the event, including the local community, ASPA, Eccentric Trading, Mrs Clare Yeabsley and Mr Bob Marlow.
