Excellent A Level Results
August 17, 2017
Aldenham students were able to celebrate some excellent results as the A Level results were released this morning. With uncertainty across the country arising from the introduction of new A level courses, it was very good that the achievements of Aldenham pupils were our highest in recent years. Over 28% of all the grades were at either A*or A grade and over 48% were at A*, A or B grades.
These results allowed students to be accepted onto university courses across the country with the top performers being Owen Caine (A*A*A*A) who will go to Warwick to read Chemistry; Philip Chen (A*A*AA) who has a place to read Physics at Imperial; Joseph Masri (A*A*B) who will study History at Warwick and Head Boy Stephen McMahon (AAA) who will be reading Politics at Exeter. In all, 22% of the 73 students gained more than 2 A grades this year.
Headmaster James Fowler commented: “In the light of the significant changes which have been brought about by the government changes to A Level, I am delighted that our decision to move all courses to a linear structure in 2015 has been vindicated by these excellent outcomes for our students. We congratulate them and all the teachers who have enabled such success this morning. As they move onto the next stage of their education I am certain they will be able to look back to the attributes achieved during their Aldenham experience which we believe will serve them very well in later life.”
