Brewers’ Company Annual Lecture 

Students enjoyed the Brewers’ Company Annual Lecture, delivered by The Master, Fergus McMullen, and McMullen’s Training Manager, Alison Ibrahim. 

The session introduced students to the science and craft of brewing, as well as the diverse career routes within the industry — from technical brewing and product development to hospitality, logistics, marketing and design. 

A practical beer‑tasting session brought the learning to life, helping students understand flavour, production and quality. Alison’s career story, including memorable VIP encounters in hospitality, was a highlight. Students were surprised to learn how subjects like physics, chemistry, business and art all play a role in brewing and brand creation.
