Les Philosophes Garden Party
June 27, 2018
Les Philosophes enjoyed their traditional summer garden party in the Headmaster's Garden and were blessed with beautiful weather to match the mood.
It was a lovely informal occasion with students and staff alike reading favourite poems, speeches and passages to the society followed by a buffet supper. The new student secretaries were announced for the next academic year; Zara Nimmo and Stefan Dezyk.
Les Philosophes is a sixth form society with membership a reward to those who achieve excellent exam results. Guest speakers are invited in once a month or so to talk on a wide variety of topics. This year, subjects have ranged from Einstein's legacy and the relationship between science and religion to the Holocaust and Israeli-Palestinian crisis with exploration of Eurasia and the future of journalism covered as well.
