A very dramatic evening

January 30, 2018

The senior House Drama competition involves a maximum of 15 pupils from each House devising, writing, and directing a 20 minute play in 24 hours. Some wonderful performances were given by all Houses; at times challenging, amusing and thought provoking. This time the topic was based on the artwork of Banksy.

Beevor’s House were the overall winners this year with their interpretation of Eternity which the adjudicator, Danny Lane, described as well written, well paced and a really funny script. They were judged to have Best Production and Best Actor – Azaan Iqbal. This was closely followed by very strong performances from Leeman’s with the Best Director award going to Jake Reynolds and Ethan Schneiderman for their sketch on Mobile Lovers. Paull’s House came third for their performance of Follow your Dreams – Cancelled.

It was a very entertaining evening with high standards; very impressive overall.
