AI in the Workplace
January 26, 2026
Following a request from our Year 10 students to learn more about AI in the workplace, we were excited to welcome OA Manish Karani to school.
Manish is a former investor turned entrepreneur with over 12 years’ experience working across the UK, Singapore, and Switzerland with major organisations including Credit Suisse, RBS Coutts, and Grant Thornton. He now leads Yareta, an AI platform that helps people understand their strengths and reach their potential.
Manish explained how AI is already being used in areas like business, sport, and medicine, and how employers are now looking beyond grades to find talent. Students learned how understanding their own strengths, how they work in teams, and what makes them stand out is just as important as academic results.
Students completed a psychometric assessment ahead of the session, which Manish used to discuss their results on the day. He encouraged students to build leadership skills, take chances, and learn from mistakes. While AI may take over simpler work tasks, Manish showed how it can be a positive tool in any career — especially when combined with teamwork, self-awareness, and skills.
