Aldenham musicians raise funds for local charities

Eight talented Aldenham musicians from across the age range gave superb performances at St James The Apostle Church in Bushey on Saturday 30th April as part of the Summer Recitals Series to raise money for Church charities.

Alex Freeborn (piano) and William Kerley (baritone) represented Year 8 with music by Franz Liszt and Leonard Cohen. Toby Freeman, a stunning electric guitarist, played a piece displaying masterly control in a technically tricky and experimental musical style. Georgia Lowe, Natasha Livingstone and Max Weil all sang superbly with a range of composers from Adele to Puccini and Vaughan Williams! Abigail James performed the slow movement of Bruch’s violin concerto beautifully, and Sarah Dean concluded the concert with the first movement of Francis Poulenc’s Sonata for flute and piano.

The recital showed off the wide range of music and abilities of our performers and the large audience responded enthusiastically and with appreciation.
